East Fort

East Fort got its name from the eastern entrance to the fort built by the Kings of Travancore. The old city was all inside the fort on four sides with the Sri Padmanabha Swamy temple at the center. It is said that there were huge metal gates on this entrance to the Fort which was decorated with the symbol of a conch, which was the isignia of the Royal Family of Travancore.

One day Trip to Sundarapandiyapuram near thirunelveli,Thenmala,Kuthalam..

                Sundarapandiapuram is a panchayat town in Tirunelveli district, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Known for its scenic beauty, it is a popular setting for many Tamil films and regional sitcoms. The critically and commercially successful Tamil movie Roja, by the acclaimed director Mani Ratnam, was also shot here. Sundarapandiapuram is renowned for its ancient temples. Many films are getting producing with this town now a days - Karuthamma, vetrikodi kattu, gentleman, Muthalvan, anniyan, satyam, sivapathikaram, vettai,avan ivan and many more

Sundara padniyapuram is good a good place to drive in.Its is quoted for its sunflower fields.And we were dreaming about the beautiful  goldern yellow flower's field. We started from Kazhakoottom after around 6.20 am.We were just 9 people and got into  a mini bus.We found the routes from google map.It was a long journey via punaloor ,thenmala,palaruvi.But we didnt stop there .And so we reached the village,Suriyapandypuram after 10.30. We asked villagers about the fileds ,but they said something that we couldnt understand..:-)..But the saddest thing was,we reached their on a wrong season.It was off season.We could see the dried flowers in and around the field.It was greatly  disappointing .After a long drive,we are in a place opposite to the pictures we saw.OOhh...

POOVAR
    Poovar is a small coastal village in the Trivandram district of kerala state,India. This village has a beautiful beach which attracts tourists. There are also some good tourist resorts.
Poovar lies very close to Vizhinjam, a natural harbor. Poovar has an estuary which connects with the sea during high tides. The 56 km Neyyar River passes through Neyyattinkara taluk into the Arabian Sea near Poovar. Its natural beauty enables it to be a quiet tourist spot.

Thiruvananthapuram Zoo

Thiruvananthapuram zoo which was established by Travancore King in the year 1857 covers a total area of 55 acres. It is a well designed zoo and is one of the oldest zoo in the country. There are about 82 species of animals from all over the world. Some of the indigenous species of varieties include lion tailed macaque, Nilgiri Langur, Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopard etc. Besides these there are also reptiles, aviary house and poisonous snakes. There is also a botanical garden inside the zoo. 

The zoo was built with the aim of recreation but then later decided to conserve it. There are a variety of plants and trees in the premise that beautifies the zoo. Carrying plastic materials to the zoo, feeding and teasing the animals, littering in the zoo premise etc are prohibited. This zoological garden is definitely an ideal picnic spot for families.
